Whitelime Rooms opened in 2016 in what had been the loading yard of a brewery. There are two rooms. The larger one keeps the north light the building was given when it was still working, and it is the reason the gallery is here rather than somewhere with better parking.

Six exhibitions a year, roughly two months each. That number is a consequence of the building rather than a policy: two rooms take about three weeks to hang properly and a show that runs less than six weeks is seen by the people who already knew about it.

Programming is done by one person, a year ahead, and mostly from studio visits rather than submissions. Around half of what shows here is made within an hour of the building.

There is no open call. If you want to be seen, the useful thing is an email with three or four images and where the work can be looked at in person; the gallery answers all of them, slowly.
